Mommy Blogger The Halton Mom

Dear Shushy Fans,

Meet one of Shushybye’s most treasured friends. Hallie is the wondrous daughter of Liz, famed blogger of The Halton Mom. Liz recently reviewed the second Shushybye storybook/audio CD SHUSHYBYE: CLOSE YOUR EYES along with our second music CD release THE SHUSHYBYE DREAM BAND: CLOSE YOUR EYES (The link to Liz’s review is below).

As we got to correspond with one another I learned that Hallie is quite the young heroine as she tackles Leukemia (Hallie recently completed her treatments and is in remission).

We know our great Shushy fans here in the US and all over the world will join with us in sending out our prayers for Hallie's clean bill of health.

We at Shushybye are proud of our friendship with Mom Liz and Daughter Hallie and feel privileged to introduce all of our fans to this awesome mother-daughter team.

Here's the link to Liz’s blog and her (very positive!) Shushybye review:

Toddler Josh and Big Brother Eric

Michael North with Josh and Eric - and a family-made Shushy cloud guitar

Dear Shushy Fans,

Yesterday, Shushybye welcomed some very special guests to our offices here in L.A. Please allow me to begin by sharing excerpts of an email sent by Jill, proud mother of toddler Josh and big brother Eric:

My son Joshua is disabled due to a severe brain bleed which resulted in hydrocephalus and the loss of the majority of the left side of his brain. he has a shunt implanted in his head and runs the length of his body to his abdomen... He doesnt watch tv like all my other kids did except when Shushybye comes on. As soon as he hears the theme music he comes a running!!!! When I watch him dancing and clapping to the music I forget about all of the obstacles he must deal with every single day, the Shushies make him just like any other kid... so his dreamwish would be to see them live in concert!!! Thank you so very much!!!!

Jill

Yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, March 10), Jill, her wonderful husband Thomas and sons Joshua and Eric visited us here at our Shushybye offices. Michael North was here as Michael and I performed Shushybye music for Joshua who danced along to each song. In addition to observing the joy that was in Josh's face, I couldn't help but be impressed as well by his older brother Eric who watched over him with total protectiveness and love. Mom and Dad are going to have blessing after blessing watching as these boys grow up, with the knowledge that young Eric will always and forever be there for his baby brother.

Below is the email I received from Jill following our afternoon together:

Dear Steve,

Just had to send you a message to say how wonderful today was!! You and Michael are most generous and kind. Watching Michael hold Josh while he prayed almost brought me to tears...It doesn't seem like saying "thank you" really expresses what my heart wants to say to you and Michael for making my sons future alot brighter...I truly believe that the characters, music as well as Michael's beautiful voice are directly responsible for giving him as normal a childhood as he could have. To see him using his hand and dancing to the Shushybye music fills my soul with such happiness , mere words are not enough to express it!! So I will close for now by saying that from the bottom of my heart you and Michael are a part of our family now...You are absolutely making a difference in one child's life. God bless all at Shushybye and Thank you for everything.

Joshua and family.

Shushybye and Goodnight,

Steve

Wondrous Shushy Fans In the the UK

Dear Shushy Fans,

Just a short (but very meaningful) blog today...

The link below will take you to a song written by a most wondrous and loving granddad by the name of David (his lovely wife Jean sits beside him and their precious grandchild baby Jessica). The proud parents of Jessica are Alison (David and Jean's daughter) and son-in-law Neal (a terrific couple). The family drove from their home in Bradford Yorkshire to a concert with The Shushybyes held in London last summer (a better than two hour drive!) that was presented by our friends at Sky-TV.

David was so kind to actually compose an original song for Jessica that is also a tribute to the Shushies. I am deeply proud and honored (or, as David and Jean would spell it - honoured!) to bring to you David's composition below.

Enjoy! (And once again, thank you so much David).

A TASTE OF CHICAGO!

Chicago…here we come!

Can hardly wait for the summer, because in addition to Washington D.C., the Nation’s Capitol…New York City, the Big Apple… Philadelphia , the city of Brotherly Love… and La La Land (that’s Los Angeles), The Shushybyes are heading to…Chi-Ca-Go! (My kind of town!).

That’s right Midwest-residing Shushy fans! The Shushybyes will be the featured children’s act on the Fun Stage at A TASTE OF CHICAGO Friday June 25 and Saturday June 26 (one show each day!).

The magnificent Michael North will be backed by the full Shushybyes band - Steve Gregory, lead guitarist extraordinaire; Pee Wee Hill, electric bass maestro; Michiko Hill, Queen of the keyboards, Glenn Ochenkoski, the drum god and yours truly on rhythm guitar (hey… I wrote these songs – I get to be in the band!). Of course, SNOOZLES, DOZIE and ZEEZ will be on stage doing their thing (specifically, dancing and making lots of dreams).

A quick word about Michael North. We happen to think Michael is the best singer in all children’s music. Plus, he’s lots of fun to watch live on stage. So, bring the whole family to a musical event you’ll always remember – The Shushybyes!

A quick overview of The Shushybyes Summer Dreamin 2010 Tour:

June 11: Sirius/XM Studios for taping of KIDS PLACE LIVE Pajama Party concert with Michael North and the Shushies (audience is invited – email info@shushybye.com for more info).
June 12: Washington DC, Jammin’ Java
June 13: NYC, The Bronx Zoo
June 19: Philadelphia, World Café
June 25: Chicago, ATASTE OF CHICAGO
June 26: Chicago, ATASTE OF CHICAGO
Upcoming: Los Angeles (Geffen Theater) – plus other cities to be announced!

On behalf of all the Shushies in Shushybye, we truly hope you and your family can join us!

Questions or comments? We invite you to email us at info@shushybye.com.

The Shushybyes Summer Dreamin’ 2010 Tour is well underway. And the best part is – we will get to meet so many of our wondrous fans!

More to come…

Shushybye and Goodnight!

Meet PJ, STARDUST and SNORE!

Dear Shushy Fans,

Meet PJ, STARDUST and SNORE, three dream-making Shushies who are also very best friends. I am excited to share that you and your families will soon be seeing them in all-new Shushybye TV shows, DVD’s, live appearances (and even a feature motion picture!).

PJ is very cool. In the mornings he’s the radio personality on MOON-FM (the rock station in Shushybye) where he’s known as ‘PJ THE DJ.’ After his morning drive shift, PJ heads over to The Dreamery (the huge Nap Valley-based factory where dreams are made) to join his dream team Stardust and Snore.

For those of you who grew up in the 1960’s, you might just recognize Stardust...A hippie girl Shushy who wears paisley shirts and bellbottoms, Stardust likes to hand out flowers to everyone. She is sweet and caring - and makes the most creative dreams imaginable.

Then there’s Snore. We at Shushybye have a strong suspicion that preschoolers and early grade children will like Snore a lot. He’s kind of like our family’s golden retriever Oscar – everyone Snore meets is instantly his best friend, and he’s ready to have fun anytime, anywhere and for any reason. He also makes a ‘snore’ sound every time he speaks. It’s kind of endearing.

PJ, Stardust and Snore also enjoy Shushybye School, along with their classmates WEARY, DROWSY and BUSHED; CHIPPER and CRANKY; and MOONBEAM, NIGHTLIGHT and BIG MATTRESS (I’ll fill you in on these Shushies later). Oh, and I also don’t want to forget to mention MISS EVE and PRINCIPAL NIGHT who run Shushybye School and CAPTAIN JOHN YAWN who captains the mighty Shushybye Dream Ship (I recently completed writing a theme song for Captain Yawn I can hardly wait for you to hear).

Lots of cool things going on in Shushybye – stay tuned!

Shushybye and Goodnight!

Steve
