Happy New Year To All!

Dear Shushy Fans,

Time once again (didn’t this year kind of speed by rather quickly?!) for the annual Shushybye year-end wrap-up report. And here with the annual wrap-up is Shushybye correspondent, our own Steve Syatt (that's me):

Happy New Year!

For Shushybye, 2008 was the year we were delighted to unveil our 16” plush dolls, release two new books (Shushybye: Sleepover Surprise and Shushybye: Where Is Christmas), one new DVD (Shushybye Baby) and one new music CD (Shushybye Dream Band: Close Your Eyes) – all to critical acclaim and prestigious parenting media awards.

Most important of all, families throughout the world brought home the Shushybye dolls, music CD's, books, sleepwear and DVD’s to enjoy – and our days have been made joyous by the tremendous amounts of loving emails and calls that came our way. (Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to contact us by phone, email and letter during the year).

Looking ahead to 2009, we will be premiering all-new episodes of Shushybye Baby on BabyFirstTV and embarking on a multi-city live Shushybye Dream Band tour (we're working hard on it!). We are also excited to debut Shushybye: The Musical at the spectacular Geffen Playhouse in the spring. Our concert at the Geffen was tremendously memorable and I feel so privileged to be working with this outstanding team of professionals. We also will be producing a DVD of the Shushybye musical for release later in the year and a second live concert DVD. Also, resulting from popular demand, we will be publishing a Shushybye song book featuring the music, guitar/piano chords and lyrics to 40 original Shushybye songs. Michael North, the band and I have begun recording new Shushybye songs that will be featured in the upcoming Shushybye Baby episodes as well as be made available within future music CD releases.

There are also some pretty major Shushy developments in the works that I can hardly wait to share with you (stay tuned!).

We look forward to continuing to hear from you via phone (our toll-free number is 1-866-748-7492) or email (info@shushybye.com). Its always fun to respond and engage in dialogue with our wondrous fans!

From our family to yours, we wish you health, happiness, prosperity and peace for the New Year.

Shushybye & Goodnight!

Memorable Day With Carlos Mencia

Dear Shushy Fans,

Its thrilling to all of us at Shushybye how Shushy fans come from just about everywhere - including Hollywood! I can hardly express our excitement when talented comedian Carlos Mencia and his lovely wife contacted the Shushybye Dream Band to perform at his precious son's birthday party! Snoozles, Dozie and Zeez were on hand for the event, with a special and intimate concert prepared for the birthday boy and his wondrous friends and their families led by the band's incredible lead singer Michael North (pictured here with Carlos!). Carlos shared with us how he and his family have been enjoying Shushybye on BabyFirstTV ever since his son was just an infant! Carlos is an extremely gracious host, and a dedicated family man. Everyone at Shushybye is honored to count him and his beautiful family among our awesome fans!

Shushybye & Goodnight,

Steve

A Wondrous Shushy Day at the Geffen!

Dear Shushy Fans,

I just wanted to take a quick moment to share with you our memorable experience at the Shushybye Dream Band Geffen Playhouse concert event held on Saturday December 6. The beautiful theater was filled with fun-loving families as Michael, the Shushybye Dream Band, Snoozles, Dozie and Zeez, Conductor McCloud, the Shushybye King and our surprise special guest (Santa!) had a most wondrous time performing on stage.

Many of the families took the time to say hello to Michael and me following the concert and even email us over the past couple of days how the concert brought such joy to their children. It was a major pleasure for all of us to bring the Shushybye music and colorful characters to children and their families. (For me, it is an impossible-to-describe feeling watching people singing the Shushybye songs!!).

In addition to expressing my deep gratitude to the Geffen Playhouse family and to our incredible Shushybye musicians, dancers and actors, I want to thank the audience so much for joining us for the concert event, and for their enthusiastic response to our performance. As Zeez would say, what an awesome Shushy day!

Beginning in the spring of ‘09, we are excited to debut Shushybye: The Musical at this extraordinary Southern California showplace.

I hope everyone reading this can join us.

Shushybye & Goodnight,

Steve

Check This Out!!

Dear Shushy Fans,

You have to check this clip out. It was posted on You Tube and it’s definitely among the most wondrous things I’ve ever seen regarding Shushybye. I won’t give anything away – only to ask that when you follow this link, please watch the clip in its entirety. (If you can, I would also please ask that you watch it before continuing with the rest of this post…).

Here’s the link (To copy on your Internet browser):

I vividly remember writing the Shushybye Theme Song. The music (always) comes first, and ‘Oh My My Shushybye” came very quickly afterwards. I dictated the lyrics of each verse to my daughter (then about 7) as she scribbled them down. I actually saved the paper!

The point is, after sharing it with my family, I had no idea what would happen to it, how it would be received (or indeed if it ever would be received!). I wrote it a few years before launching Shushybye.

Every day I feel so privileged to speak with families throughout the world who take the time to call and share their Shushybye experiences with me (many are identical to moments my wife and I will always treasure when our children were little).

Seeing this video is such a gift for me personally – that "Oh My My Shushybye" has touched this precious child, as well as precious children in loving homes everywhere. Wow!!

I hope you are enjoying every moment of this holiday season.

Shushybye & Goodnight!

Steve
